We’d like to give a huge shoutout to Sandy Rosenthal for donating $1,000 to our 10,000 Reusable Bag Giveaway!
Ms. Rosenthal is our first major individual donor, and is kicking off our “Warriors Against Waste” Program, which is when private donors give large contributions in support of our efforts to decrease waste and litter, while providing environmental education to the residents of New Orleans. Thanks Sandy!
No Waste NOLA is funded by donations of all sizes, so please be sure to contribute to our bag giveaway in any way that you can! Contact max@nowastenola.org to discuss larger donations.

We had fun at Bayou Paddlesports’ cleanup!

Thanks to Bayou Paddlesports for hosting a cleanup of Bayou St. John in an effort to keep our waterways safe and clean. No Waste NOLA joined the cleanup crew, which picked up dozens of plastic bags and hundreds of other items that will be completely unregulatable if HB 192 is passed.
These pictures from the cleanup day show how necessary regulation of waste is.
Please sign our petition to say NO to HB 192:

Keep voicing your opinion on HB 192!

Well, it looks like the author of HB192 is hearing our strong opposition: the bill was pulled from the agenda for tomorrow’s hearing!
We hear that it’ll be back on the calendar for April 14th, though. So block off that time on your calendars and watch this space – we’re carpooling to BR!
In the meantime: Keep encouraging your friends to sign the petition. Keep emailing members of the committee. Keep calling them. Let them know your opposition will endure for two more weeks, and then some.
